How to pace the Barcelona Marathon
Barcelona is a mostly flat city loop past the Sagrada Família, Camp Nou, and the seafront, run in mild mid-March weather.
The profile is fast, with only a couple of gentle rises on the inland side of the loop and a slight pull near the Montjuïc area. None of it is steep enough to require a real adjustment beyond running by effort.
A sea breeze can pick up along the coastal stretch. Otherwise this is an even-pace course: settle in by 5 km and hold goal pace through the flat middle to the finish near Plaça d’Espanya.
Set a goal finish time above and the calculator builds a split plan for this course, grade-adjusted from its elevation profile. New to pacing? Read the pacing strategy guide.
