How to pace the Singapore Marathon
The Singapore course is flat, with only a handful of expressway ramps to break rhythm. Elevation is not the pacing factor here — heat and humidity are.
The race starts before dawn to avoid the worst of it, but temperatures near 27°C and humidity around 80% still make goal pace feel far harder than the same effort in cool weather. Set a target 15–30 seconds per kilometre slower than a cool-weather goal, and be willing to adjust down further mid-race.
Start conservatively, take fluid at every station, and treat the second half as the real race. Runners who go out on an ambitious pace almost always fade badly in the final 10 km once the sun is up.
Set a goal finish time above and the calculator builds a split plan for this course, grade-adjusted from its elevation profile. New to pacing? Read the pacing strategy guide.
